A News Bite is a simplified version of the most recent news stories. These News Bites are aimed towards early Key Stage 1 children and are geared towards developing text understanding, talking and listening skills and orally answering questions relating to the News Bite.
Each story includes a picture, a short story and a list of questions. This is an exercise which can be completed as soon as the children come into class in the morning, independently.
You can choose one child each day to retell the story in their own words and you can get other children involved too by answering the questions.
